Café Scientifique Alumni Impact Report

Cafe Scientifique New Mexico was started in Fall of 2008 in four very diverse communities in northern New Mexico. It was a test to determine whether informal conversations with STEM experts would have impact on teens views of science in their lives and in their future careers. We engaged Jessica Sickler, LLC to conduct a small pilot study of our earliest attendees to learn what they remember and took with them from the Cafe events. Attached is a brief but rich and uplifting report on the long term impacts of teen cafés.

We are inspired to continue this study by locating additional teens served in our program over the past decade. Keeping home addresses, emails, cell numbers, and parent contact information is critical in successfully relocating the attendees after a decade.
