Key Resources for Cafés on Technology for Emergency Response

The Teen Science Café Network received funding from the National Science Foundation to support TSCN sites in introducing teens to technical career paths associated with natural disasters. Emergency response personnel with technical backgrounds from EMT and other medical fields, to safety specialists monitoring dams, weather, fire, and more, are found in every community and can be excellent teen cafe presenters, opening the eyes of youth to STEM pathways in their future.

Many teen café programs were interested in hosting a café on Technology for Emergency Response, so we have created a Trivia Question Sheet_final and Trivia Question Sheet_final_adult_leader_answer_key to be used at the event to collect data on student understanding. We also created a—Presenter guidance_FINAL_03-29-2018—that you may use invite and guide presenters in preparing for their cafe presentation.
