15 years of connecting STEM experts and teens to explore our world together.

Teen Science Café Network (TSCN) and our Teen Science Cafés (TSC) are a National Science Foundation-funded professional evaluation-backed program based on research-proven Six Design Principles elevating teen voice, teen choice, and 21st-century skill development.

What is a Teen Science Café?

TSCs are free out of school time programs where teens and STEM experts collaborate on presentations and hands-on activities which explore science topics in-depth. Cafés are as unique as the communities they serve, and are led by teens for teens with sponsorship of an adult leader. Cafés are easy to start and no prior experience with STEM is needed

[The teen science café program] definitely influenced my decision to pursue research opportunities in college, first working as a lab assistant and then conducting my own research for my thesis.

Teen Science Café Locations

Since its establishment in 2008, the TSCN grew to a Pre-Covid peak of over 100 programs in rural, urban, and suburban locations in North America and Canada. Today there are over 50 cafés nationwide, and growing. Check out our currently active café locations below. See the entire Network (past and present) by opening the map in a new window. Teen Science Café Network Mission
